Throat

As humorist Nora Ephron, author of I Feel Bad About My Neck memorably wrote, “Our faces are lies and our necks are the truth. You have to cut open a redwood tree to see how old it is, but you wouldn’t if it had a neck.” The neck houses the throat, the voice, and the thyroid—which perform some of the most important functions in the human body. But aesthetically, it’s also a source of frustration, revealing age that’s more easily hidden in the face.

Dr. Yagoda, a facial plastic surgeon and otolaryngologist, treats both the functional and aesthetic concerns of all the structures in the throat and neck. Whether it’s a purely aesthetic concern, or a functional one such as a thyroid problem, voice concern, cough, snoring, or chronic tonsillitis, she offers a full spectrum of treatment options ranging from holistic, homeopathic, and alternative therapies, to prescription medication, injections, lasers, and surgery.

Dr. Yagoda is well-known throughout the entertainment world for her care of the professional voice. She is an international vocal health expert, as well as the medical director of the Grammy-award winning Brooklyn Youth Chorus Academy.  Chosen as one of the most comprehensive vocal doctors in New York by the New York Singing Teachers’ Association, she addresses performers’ voice, ears, nose, throat, aesthetic, facial, and neck concerns.

Dr. Yagoda treats the following functional concerns of the throat and neck:
