Voice Care

Dr. Michelle Yagoda specializes in the care of the professional voice. As an otolaryngologist, she understands that many complaints about pitch, vibration, volume, and tone originate not in the throat but in other facial structures such as the nose, sinuses and mouth.

She offers a unique and integrative approach to voice care, combining natural and alternative therapies, lifestyle changes, and nutritional supplementation with state-of-the-art injections, lasers, and surgery.

Recognized by the New York Singing Teachers’ Association for her comprehensive approach to vocal care, she was the first to incorporate a team approach to vocal care.  As medical director of the Grammy-award winning Brooklyn Youth Chorus Academy, Dr. Yagoda is a proponent of the Cross-Choral Training Technique that allows singers to be safely trained in all musical genres.

Her patients include voice students and professional voice users of all ages. Students of the Julliard School, the Manhattan School of Music, the New York Singing Teachers' Association, and the Grammy-Award winning Brooklyn Youth Chorus Academy see Dr. Yagoda, as do professional opera singers from the Metropolitan Opera, NYC Opera, and DiCapo opera.  Rock, pop, reggae, rap, and folk singers seek Dr. Yagoda's expertise as do Broadway stars from Mary Poppins, RENT, Billy Elliott, HAIR, Little Mermaid, Memphis, Legally Blond, Lion King, Wicked, and Avenue Q.  Dr. Yagoda treats television anchors and correspondents from Fox, ABC, NBC, CBS, WPIX, NY1, CNN, and CNBC; radio announcers from WPLJ and Q104; screen actors; clergy, gospel and religious singers; performers in off-Broadway productions and traveling theater companies; and other professionals for whom their voices are their livelihoods.

Dr. Yagoda treats these and other conditions of the ears, nose, and throat that also affect the voice:

Singers, Take Note!

She provides complimentary voice screenings on World Voice Day (April 15th) each year, and offers reduced fees for the uninsured, under-insured, and professional voice students. Highly regarded by the New York Singing Teachers' Association as one of New York's best voice specialists, and medical director of a Grammy-award winning chorus, Dr. Yagoda highlights special tips for singers in each box. Look for it!
